About bluEmber

Two brothers. One Montana company.

bluEmber was built by brothers Joel and Nathan McEntee, who each started in the home service industry straight out of high school — Joel running an installation business in Bozeman, Montana, Nathan running his own two states away in Fresno, California. Years on ladders and rooflines led them to the same conclusion independently: the permanent lighting market didn't have a real premium option. Every system on the market came with the same compromises.

So they combined forces and built one. bluEmber designs the system, manufactures the hardware — including the mounting track itself, made right here in the USA — writes the software that runs it, and installs every job through its own crews and a small number of licensed dealers. Not a private-labeled import passed through a dozen middlemen before it reaches your roofline.

Can you see it during the day?

Barely. The channel is color- and profile-matched to your trim and sits flush with the soffit. Most homeowners tell us their guests don't notice it until the lights come on.

What happens if a light fails?

Each fixture on the run operates independently, so one failure doesn't affect the rest. Defective components are covered under bluEmber's lifetime LED warranty.

Will it damage my roof or soffit?

No. The channel is installed into the soffit properly, with hidden wiring — nothing is stapled to your fascia or left exposed to the weather.

Does it raise my power bill?

Not meaningfully. Power draw per fixture is very low, even running the system nightly year-round.

How is this different from the seasonal Christmas lights you also install?

Seasonal lights are hung and taken down every year. A permanent bluEmber system is installed once, controlled from an app, and handles every occasion — not just December. If you've already had us out for seasonal lights, ask about your loyalty credit toward a permanent system.

How long does the install take?

Most homes are fully installed and set up on your phone in a single day, after a free on-site design consultation and a fixed written quote.

Do you serve my town?

We install throughout Billings, Laurel and Bozeman and the communities around them. Larger properties elsewhere in Montana — get in touch and we'll work it out.

Do you do commercial properties?
